This community artwork was created as part of a linguistic work that helped the local Toubou languages into a written language to strengthen cultural identity.
There is a saying in Toubou society that when a bird stops singing, it loses its voice - when the mother tongue stops being spoken, the culture is lost.
Many people took part, drawing things from their culture and writing thoughts and poems in one of the three Toubou languages.
