This Mural was created together with people from Myanmar who are suffering from war and repression. One year after the coup in Myanmar, many Burmese felt forgotten by the world public. Almost a million people are on the run. Many of them carry images of horror and sad memories with them.
Over 160 people from the Burmese community around the world sent us messages and drawings. With the help of Burmese from Switzerland and illustrators from our team, all these messages were painted on the wall. The motif shows a grieving woman with the strong 3-finger gesture - the symbol of human rights, democracy and freedom. She combines weakness and strength. Tears matter.
